One Spark!

April 7, 2015 - April 12, 2015

One Spark is the world’s largest crowdfunding festival and it is happening in Downtown Jacksonville April 7th-12th.

Child Guidance Center is excited to have two projects this year at One Spark.

Project One:

Sand Tray Therapy

Sandtray Therapy will be located at #EdSpark, the premier venue for all things educational at One Spark. This is housed at the Times Union Center.

The Project is #22046

About our Project

Sandtray Therapy is a tool mental health therapists use in order to allow an alternative to talk therapy. Play is the language of the child, and Sandtray is an avenue for healing in a safe and structured environment-regardless of the therapy setting- and particularly with children and adolescents who experience depression, anxiety, trauma and family conflicts.

This project funds Child Guidance Center to provide 75 therapists with Sand trays, miniatures and sand to provide Sandtray Therapy for the over 5000 children and adolescents served annually.

Project Two:

CMHR

Children’s Mental Health Research will be located on Forsyth Street.

The Project is #22127:

About our Project

Research powers the ability to bring to awareness the issues of our times, to discover answers to those issues and then to implement those answers in the form of services.

We are seeking a collaborator interested in funding or partnering in the analyzation and interpretation of the data we have already collected.

We are also seeking financial support for the inaugural year of a Children and Family Mental Health Research Institute initiative.
