Ariadna Hoots, LMHC, Community Action Team Director
Ariadna Hoots began her career with Child Guidance Center as an outpatient therapist in 2011. In 2013, she became a therapist for the pilot program, Community Action Team (CAT). Ariadna was later promoted to CAT Licensed Clinic Supervisor and the then CAT Program Director. As the CAT Director, Ariadna has cultivated a team that provides wrap around services for families with urgent needs. With a focus on evidence based treatment training and the skillful use of technology, Ariadna has led the CGC CAT team to be a state leader who is often asked to consult with other CAT programs.
Much of her specialization is in dealing with families in crisis. For well over 25 years she has been going into homes, schools, community-based programs and at times the work place. This has allowed for closer relationships with many of her clients and their families. These relationships have improved the outcomes for entire families. As a result of these positive relationships many of crisis level cases have stabilized in order to proceed with counseling in a less intensive setting.
Ariadna has a Master of Arts in Counseling and Bachelor of Arts degrees in Psychology and Political Science from the University of New Mexico. Ariadna has worked with children and families in some form of therapeutic setting since 1992. She is trained in Solution Focused Therapy, Motivational Interviewing, Family Systems, Trauma Focused-Cognitive Behavior Therapy, Dialectal Behavior Therapy, and Life Coaching. She is a Licensed Mental Health Counselor, a Certified Right Response Instructor, a Certified Advanced Youth Development Instructor, and a Qualified Supervisor.
